African Americans wanted blacks and whites in america to be treated equally. This effects how african americans are teated in America, and it is not fair.

The Black Panthers were found in the 60s in Oakland, California. The main goal was to protect citizens involved with organization activities and protest.
Strategy 1:The Black Panthers used many strategies to create social change in America. One strategy that was used was shape an image. The Black Panthers were the face of African Americans in the 60s fighting for social equality. Their original intentions were to protect blacks in their neighborhood from police brutality. During the civil rights movement, they worked towards social equality, and keeping techniques learned during meetings to stay safe as possible during boycotts and casual events. Their image, the panther represents a powerful and protective presence. Symbolizing the people involved with the Black Panther society as a strong and protective group.

Strategy 2: Another strategy that the Black Panthers used was non-violent direct action. They participated and lead several protest and gatherings. This strategy helped with social equality because protest are designed to express how the people effected by what they think is unfair, to show who ever created the law/rule to change it that best fits the needs of the people. Even though the organization did use violent action at one point to contribute to creating social change, ultimately this approach will have a positive outcome.
